You’ve heard about Internet banking – but most people are still nervous about doing their banking on the web.

The fact is, people no longer have the time to queue at the bank, which is why Self service banking is the way forward. It’s easy and convenient – and most importantly, it’s safe.

Why Internet Banking?
• Access to your bank account 24/7, which means you can closely monitor your personal and business accounts.
• You can view statements and balances, make payments, buy prepaid airtime, apply to increase or decrease an overdraft limit, and open investment and savings accounts.
• Choose your own banking times.

Get started with Internet Banking

• First things first. Make sure you have at least one valid AutoBank, MasterCard credit, Business AutoBank or E Plan card. It is important that you also have a PIN number.
• Start the registration process by clicking here: http://bit.ly/8zzgVU.
• Here you will need to type in your bankcard number and ATM pin. Once you have added this information, click on the register button.
• You will receive an email with a One Time Password (OTP). You will need to type in this number to complete the registration.
• Fill in the registration form. Once this form is complete, press continue and then confirm.
• You will be asked to create a CSP and password and registration will be complete.
• Go to www.standardbank.co.za, click on the Internet Banking link and begin!

Tips on Security and Internet Banking
• Never use Internet cafes and other public access points to do your Internet Banking.
• The One Time Password (OTP) is essential as it is a secure, unique and time sensitive password. You will receive this password via email or SMS and it is only valid for one session.
• It is important that you make use of and download Firewall and anti-virus software.
• Keep your pin and login information safe. Never offer this information to anyone.
• You can register for SMS notifications. This service will alert you by SMS when you logon and when there is any activity on your account.
• Never save your PIN in your browser. This means never click “Remember me.”
• Never follow links from emails and websites. Always access Internet Banking from www.standardbank.co.za
